Learn about the rich history of Teddington with 'Teddington TW11' by Ken Howe

The local history of Teddington is fascinating - it's why we love talking about it so much here at Nub News.
Local Historian Ken Howe probably knows more than anyone about the history of TW11.
Luckily he has a new book out 'Teddington TW11' detailing some of this history through articles Ken has written in TW magazines.
Here is what Ken told us about the book:
"What I can say is that in 2012 I was asked to write a local history on Teddington for the TW11 Magazine.
"This was well received and the editor asked if I would write more. I particularly wanted to deliver what I considered to be some interesting facts about places and the buildings in Teddington and the people who lived in them.
"The editor very generously gave me free rein on the writing side and here in 2020, I find myself still at it.
"My column has proved to be a popular one with the readers, many of whom have provided me with their own contributions to my stories.
"I am delighted to say that I get stopped at various places to discuss some of the articles, on the bus, in pubs and restaurants, at bus stops, in the street and on one occasion, on a hospital trolley as I was being wheeled off for a procedure.
"Many of the readers collect the monthly articles but did not start at the very beginning.
"The present editor thought it would be a good idea to create a compendium of the articles over the years and hence "Teddington TW11" the book has been published, only to find all sales outlets closed with the Covid-19 lockdown.
"I can sell it myself and my best advertising blurb is to say that it is crammed with 175 pages of local stories and heavily illustrated throughout.
"It is available from me, Ken Howe at 1 Cedar Road, Teddington, TW11 9AN, price £12.99. I can deliver locally within the TW11 district, otherwise I have to add £1.85 packing and post."
