Shambles Wine bar was operating its Pop Up Shop in the High Street and immediately brought back memories of a bygone beer-a!

Pints were being served through the window adhering to all the social distance rules but you can tell by the look of this customer's face he had been reunited with a long-lost friend - a pint.

Owner Massimo was delighted with the support of the community and they sold out of their home-made pasta two hours before closing.

"We're overwhelmed with the support we have been shown," he said. "We have sold twice as much pasta as we thought we would."

The popular wine bar was seriously considering opening again tomorrow with the same strict conditions.(sunday)

Locals queued to enter the wine bar to look at the deli while thirsty customers ordered their pints and glasses of prosecco in plastic glasses at the open window and sipped them at safe distances outside.

Passing drivers looked on in envy as they saw the rare sight of people drinking on the pavement while Saturday afternoon shoppers briefly interrupted their errands for a glass.
