Going into Abstract Painting - 3 day course

Open to adults with some previous experience of painting. This course explores painting in different media, focusing on objectivity through drawings, photos, and studies. Students will create non-representational images using various methods and techniques.
Skills Developed:
- Exploring abstract themes
- Linking abstract themes with personal style
- Outdoor sketching (weather permitting)
- Using reference images and slide projection
Materials Provided: White Gesso, sand, sandpaper, slow-drying medium for acrylic paints.
Materials Required: Acrylic paints, brushes, watercolour/gouache paints, drawing materials, household paint brush, large palette, tracing paper, ruler, scissors, PVA glue, toothbrush, sponges, palette knife, newspapers, suitable paper/board/canvas, sketchbook, rubber.
Dates and Times: 30 July - 1 August, 10am - 4pm
Tutor: Bob Meecham, artist and teacher with extensive experience.
