Carve a Butter Knife

How about trying something different in 2024? Come along to our Sunday afternoon crafting session and learn how to make your very own wooden butter knife.

This is a great introduction to green wood carving and a perfect precursor to spoon carving.

In this friendly, fun small-group session, experienced local carver and green wood worker Eleanor Morgan will guide you safely through all the steps, ensuring that you go home with a beautiful and also useful and unique butter knife carved from locally sourced wood.

The workshop is suitable for complete beginners and no experience is assumed. However, as we'll be using sharp knives, the class is for over 18s only. All tools and wood will be provided.

Coffee, tea and homemade cake are included too, to keep energy levels up!

"I enjoyed that it was a small class, so could get lots of guidance"

"A great introduction to carving! Really enjoyed it"
