Why Twickenham?

"I am standing in Twickenham to address the urgent social and environmental issues overlooked by the Conservative government, especially the threats to our river and the green spaces in our area. 

"With experience from COP26 and promoting sustainability, I am committed to driving positive change in Twickenham."

Key issue

"Key issues include housing affordability, healthcare access, environmental protection, and improved transportation. These areas require immediate attention to enhance residents' quality of life and sustainability."

Tuesday, 25 June

Thames Water

"I will push for the nationalisation of Thames Water, increased investment in water infrastructure, greater transparency, and strict accountability to stop sewage dumping and protect our waterways."

Teddington DRA

"This is an expensive, over-engineered proposal in the wrong location, that will have minimal impact on increasing water security. 

"If elected, I will do everything in my power to push the new Secretary of State to refuse the Development Consent Order requested by Thames Water."

Wednesday, 26 June

Affordable housing

"To secure more social housing, we need increased investment, partnerships with housing associations, policy changes to incentivise affordable housing construction and efficient land use."

Cost-of-living crisis

"I will advocate for financial support for low-income families, affordable housing initiatives, living wage policies, reduced utility costs, and food security programs."

Education

"My priorities include increased school funding, professional development for teachers, promoting inclusive education, and ensuring all children have access to quality education."

Social care

"I will advocate for increased funding, better support for unpaid carers, improved integration of health and social care services, and equitable access to social care."

Heathrow night flights

"I oppose proposals to change night flights in and out of Heathrow, as Green Party policy is against any new expansion of airport capacity. 

"If elected, I will lobby for a ban on domestic flights for journeys that take less than three hours by train and the introduction of a frequent-flyer levy."

Local representation in Parliament

"I will ensure local voices are heard through regular consultations, open communication and making sure these are used to structure the arguments I raise in parliament, as well as collaborating closely with local councils and community groups."

Polling day for the 2024 General Election is Thursday 4 July. 

Those who have registered to vote and have not sent a postal vote, will be to attend one of the polling stations in their constituency in-person, between 7am and 10pm.

Voters are required to bring a valid photo ID, such as:

• a UK or Northern Ireland photocard driving licence
• a UK passport
• a Blue Badge
• a Northern Ireland Electoral Identity Card
• a Voter Authority Certificate
