Mini Rag Wreath Workshop
Stepping on Out, 7 The Causeway, Teddington TW11 0AH
Arts & Crafts
UNTIL Tuesday 22nd November
Join us for a festive evening at The Railway pub and have a taster of the traditional craft of rag rugging whilst making your own unique, vintage inspired mini wreath out of hessian and upcycled fabrics.
Using hessian, an old-fashioned rag rugging tool and a combination of t-shirt material, old silks, ribbon and lots of other fabrics, you'll learn how to make a cute 18cm wide Christmas wreath that you can use again and again.
During the workshop we'll introduce you to the age-old technique of shaggy rag rugging and also teach you how to cut the fabric strips, bind edges and finish your wreath.
The class is suitable for total beginners and all materials and use of tools are included (though of course you're welcome to bring any fabrics and decorations of your own too), together with wine, juice or a hot drink.
If you've been bitten by the rag rugging bug, then tools will be available to purchase at the end of the workshop.
The class will be run by Ann and Catherine from Handmade Workshops.
