Teddington Together is rallying local music talent once again to stage a SECOND follow-up online event, Rockin' the Lockin' on Saturday 23rd May, to raise funds for the The Landmark Arts Centre's emergency fundraising campaign.

Following the success of Teddington Together's Rockin' the Lockin' for Crossroads Care, the community organisation has offered to stage a similar virtual 'stay at home' event, Landmark Live, to raise funds for the arts centre, which faces permanent closure due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Lisa Wyborn, of Teddington Together, said:"We're only too pleased to help The Landmark. After the first Rockin' the Lockin' many of the performers wanted to do it again and others got in touch to ask if they could get involved, so we thought why not!

"It's the perfect platform for musicians to perform during lockdown and raising money for local causes at the same time."

Martin Nicholds, Landmark Chair of Trustees commented, "We're so thankful to Teddington Together and all the local musicians for giving their time to put on this show to raise funds for us.

"Musicians need to perform and this event will provide that opportunity, introduce them to new audiences and raise some money to keep this venue alive for everyone in the community."

Rockin the Lockin: Landmark Live will be a showcase of live music starting at 11.30 am running through to midnight.

Musician and flamboyant MC, Gareth Wax, will be introducing 25 local acts from across a range of genres who will perform to raise money towards a target of £25,000 in 25 days for The Landmark's 25th anniversary year.

The Landmark also wanted to show their support for local retailers in Teddington by offering them the opportunity to have their businesses promoted in between acts.

The event will be streamed via the Rockin the Lockin' Facebook page where donations can be made.

So far, the line-up of acts include: Claire Bender; Craig & Ruth Anders; D'artagnan; Dave Kelly; Gareth Wax; Jason Darling; Jamie Gray; Lethal Dave; Mae Edwards; Maisie Johnson; Marky Dawson; Matt Appleby; Nick Bird; Pauline Callais; Quantum Luke; Rupert Caney; Sam Holt; Sarah & Rupert; Scott Nicholls; Thom Worth; Mathilda & Luke; Wolfe Hogan; Yogi & The Bear; Zoe Avis.

The event will be the first of a series of fundraisers being held by The Landmark to mark its 25th anniversary, including a virtual quiz night and The Landmark 25, a sponsored arts challenge asking supporters to take part in arts activities at home during lockdown.

The Landmark Arts Centre is an independent charity (1047080) dedicated to offering a wide range of arts education activities for children, young people and adults by providing a stimulating, year-round, programme of live events including music, comedy, poetry and dance as well as providing exhibition opportunities for visual artists and designer-makers through art fairs and group and solo exhibitions, to help care for our amazing Grade II* listed building
