A Conservative MP has hinted at a potential visit to Teddington soon.

Sir John Flasby Lawrance Whittingdale OBE, who has been the MP for Maldon in Essex since 1992 and  Shadow Minister for Health and Social Care since July 2024, hinted at his potential Teddington visit in a post on X (formerly Twitter) this morning (Thursday, 19 June).

In his post, the MP praised Teddington as a "beautiful part" of London and said: "Only Fools & Horses fans keep an eye out I'll be paying my respects to someone very soon".

Only Fools and Horses is connected to Teddington through the death and burial of actor Kenneth MacDonald, who played Mike the barman in the show.

Macdonald was buried at Teddington Cemetery after his death in 2001. Additionally, the show's filming location for some scenes was near Teddington, in Twickenham Studios.
