And we do it all right here at Sky. We are seeking a Software Engineer with expertise in SQL, SSIS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our AdTech team. This role requires a strong background in database management, ETL processes, and cloud-based solutions, with a mindset toward cloud migration. While the full transition to GCP is not yet finalised, we are looking for someone who has knowledge or is willing to learn and drive the migration when the opportunity arises. The ideal candidate will work on optimising database performance, automating ETL jobs, and building scalable data solutions. What you'll do

• Design, develop, and optimise SQL databases to ensure high performance and scalability.

• Develop and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes, implementing efficient data transformation and validation techniques.

• Ensure all new ETL processes are designed with a cloud-first mindset, making future migration easier.

• Implement DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and security best practices

What you will bring

• Solid experience in backend development, with a strong focus on SQL, SSIS, and GCP.
• Expert in SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, query optimisation).
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS, including package development, automation, logging, and error handling.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
• Experience in designing and optimising ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git, Terraform, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on performance tuning and scalability.

Nice to Have

• Experience in migrating on-premises ETL workloads (SSIS) to cloud-based solutions.

• Experience with .NET Core / .NET Framework for backend development.

• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying ETL jobs.

• Experience of the media industry, especially advertising technology.
