A provision for pupils who have a range of severe and complex learning disabilities, is seeking supportive Teaching Assistants to play a key role in nurturing the education of SEN learners.
About the Role:

You will support young people (ages 4 years to 19 years old) with severe and complex learning difficulties, either 1:1 or in small groups, ensuring individual needs are met.

Unite with the class teacher and other relevant professionals to modify learning materials and foster a safe, stimulating environment, adaptable to each need.

Support learners in developing their communication, social, emotional and educational skills through tailored interventions.

Contribute to monitoring and assessing the progress of learners with the wider teaching staff and support in any internal sessions/workshops.

Work with the learner on a programme aimed at supporting and empowering them to achieve their aspirations and goals, while developing the skills needed to become a more independent member of the community.
A suitable candidate will:

Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Ability to create a customisable and engaging learning environment.

Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Be flexible and adaptable to the varying needs of individuals.

Be English and Maths proficient.

Understand the varying needs of SEN and potential challenging behaviours, whilst adhering to the settings policies.

Be available Monday Friday, Full Time between the hours of 8:30am 4pm.

Successful applicants will be subject to references and an up-to-date DBS, or be willing to apply for a Starfyn Education DBS.
