SEN Teacher (PLMD)Salary Range: £150 - £180 per day dependant on qualification and experienceLocation: HounslowJob Type: Temporary (with the possibility of a permanent contract from September)Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4pm
We are looking for an experienced SEN Teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This role is to start as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent contract. The ideal candidate will have specific experience in PMLD and be committed to creating a supportive and accessible learning environment.
Day to day of the role:
- Plan, prepare and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with PMLD.
- Use a range of effective teaching strategies to promote learning and personal development.
- Adapt teaching resources to suit the requirements of each pupil.
- Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Assess and record pupils' progress, preparing reports as required.
- Create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is essential.
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teacher, with specific experience in PMLD being highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and PMLD strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A patient, caring and creative approach to teaching.
