Position: English TeacherStart Date: ASAP or Term 2Contract: Fixed-term (rest of the academic year)Location: Nr Chertsey, SurreySalary: £169.62 - £258.83 (depending on experience)The School: This school is a high-achieving secondary school known for its commitment to academic excellence and personal growth in students. The school has recently undergone an extensive renovation and boasts fantastic, new, modern facilities.The Role:We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join this fantastic teaching team as soon as possible. The role will be full time teaching KS3 and KS4. They would ideally like someone to start ASAP but they would consider applicants for a later start date if required. The role will be employed on a fixed term contract basis until the end of the academic year. Pay negotiable in line with fringe main pay scale for teachersEnglish Teacher requirements/responsibilities: Please note, before reading on, this role is not suitable for teachers without UK Qualified Teacher Status
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons that inspire and challenge students of varying abilities across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting students to achieve their full potential
  • Be an English Teacher who inspires and motivates pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a positive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to excel
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the English department to develop innovative resources, schemes of work, and assessments that align with the school s curriculum
  • Participate in school-wide activities and initiatives that contribute to the wider life of the school
  • Engage with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns
  • A teacher who holds a UK teaching qualification or equivalent
Person Specification:
  • Qualifications: You must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related field
  • Passion for Teaching: We are looking for an individual who is genuinely passionate about teaching English and fostering a love for language, literature, and literacy among students
  • Experience: While experience teaching English in a secondary school setting is preferred, we also welcome applications from newly qualified teachers (NQTs/ECT's) with the drive and ambition to make a positive impact in the classroom
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will work closely with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Commitment: You should be committed to raising achievement and maintaining high expectations for all students
  • Compliance: You must hold all valid, required police checks, full references available for a minimum of 2 years and be prepared to have full employment checks carried out
