A pub in Teddington, which closed two years ago, is set to reopen early next month (December) after being purchased by a community consortium.
The Lion, which is located on Wick Road, was sold back in March and was up for sale on Fleurettes for £950,000 +VAT. Fifteen local investors bought the pub from pub chain Stonegate Group
However, in October last year, Fullers pub chain contemplated buying the site and converting it into The Rising Sun, which has a venue in Isleworth, and would have offered a Thai and lunchtime 'Express Menu'.
But following backlash from local residents about the idea, Fullers decided not to go through with the plans.
Under its new owners, the pub's site is currently undergoing a makeover to both its exterior and interior.

In a post on Instagram last week, leading members of the community consortium, Peter Scott and Gareth said: "We are incredibly excited to announce we will be re-opening The Lion pub on Wick Road after its closure 2 years ago! We will be spending some time putting our stamp on this once loved pub. Follow along to see our journey.
"It's an honour and privilege to be the new custodians of this pub, along with our amazing investors (we will introduce them to you soon!)
"Looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming back our old friends, neighbours and new faces!"
Speaking about the reopening, Peter told Teddington Nub News: "We are excited about the journey in front of us and are grateful to the community for giving us so much support! We can't wait to see everyone in the pub for a drink and a bite to eat!"
The Lion will also be setting up stall at this year's Teddington Christmas Lights Up event on Thursday, 27 November to give locals an insight into what it has to offer.
