The Rising Sun in Isleworth confirmed yesterday that it will not take over the site of The Lion Pub on Wick Lane, Teddington, which closed its doors in 2022.

Before signing the dotted lines, The Rising Sun posted on Facebook that it was hoping to take over the derelict site and would offer a Thai menu.

However, many locals commented back that they would prefer to see a more traditional menu.

The Rising Sun told Teddington Nub today, 5 November, that it will not be progressing with the takeover as the plan "is just not suited to what we want right now".

The Lion pub site will remain derelict.
