Teddington station was set to open new lifts last month. However, the opening of the new lifts has now been delayed until December.

Work on the two new lifts between the two platforms on Station Road and Victoria Road at Teddington Station began in July.

The £4.2m 'Access for All' scheme has been funded by the Department of Transport (DFT) and will aim to improve the accessibility at the popular station for disabled and elderly passengers as well as families with young children and prams.

Twickenham MP Munira Wilson, who also represents Teddington residents within her constituency, said: "Making our train stations accessible for all is so important for the people in our community, and especially for the elderly, the disabled and families with young children. The installation of lifts at Teddington station is great news for all residents."
