Teddington's Mighty Convoy joins initiative bringing aid to Ukraine

The Teddington-based Mighty Convoy, which sends aid to Ukraine, has today launched an initiative called Convoy of Hope with International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA )to deliver a vital Transport Project to the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine (CMA).
The initiative was launched at Parliament today and is raising funds for the following shared objectives:
- Securing freight services to transport the hundreds of tonnes of donated medical aid we continue to receive
- Purchasing ambulances and emergency evacuation vehicles to be distributed to medical units in Ukraine
Mighty Convoy, based in Teddington's Cambridge Road, is a non-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers who buy second-hand ambulances and other emergency vehicles, fill them with aid and drive them to Ukraine.
Thus far, it has sent 32 vehicles to Ukraine, including 25 ambulances and five pickup trucks containing 25 tons of medical supplies, much of which has been supplied by ICMDA.
ICMDA resources Christian doctors and dentists throughout Ukraine through its member body the CMA to care for the wounded, displaced and homeless, serve in frontline health facilities and act as a portal to provide drugs, consumables and equipment to hospitals and health centres.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, ICMDA has sent over 150 truck and lorry loads of medical supplies to Ukraine.
