Blazin' Fiddles
Friday 7 March, Landmark Arts Centre, Doors Open: 6.45pm for 7.30pm start.

Take the finest exponents of their native Scottish fiddle styles, the finest backing in folk music, and some of the Highlands and Islands' famed warmth and craic… distil over over 25 years, and you get Blazin' Fiddles!
One of the most lauded and best-loved acts of the Scottish music scene, from the moment the multi award-winning Blazers take the stage to whisk you on a thrilling musical journey, you're in the finest of company.
The mastery of fiddle virtuosos, Jenna Reid (Shetland), Kristan Harvey (Orkney) and Rua Macmillan (Highlands), grounded by the second to none, driving accompaniment of Angus Lyon (piano) and Anna Massie (guitar), will leave you reeling.
For over a quarter of a century, no other band has quite captured Scottish fiddle music's variety, energy and sensitivity like Blazin' Fiddles. Atop many musical twists and turns, the group's quicksilver playing is matched by lightning sharp humour and uproarious stories from their many tunes and travels, Whatever the hall – whether of the Royal Albert or highland village variety – they'll turn it into the liveliest and warmest of hootenannies.

Quilting for Beginners
Friday 7 March, United Exchange, 10.30am - 4.30pm.

During the workshop, experienced local tutor Emma Randall will teach you how to rotary cut and piece blocks of fabric and then put them together to make either a small lap quilt or a table runner.
You'll then quilt it using some basic quilting designs and finish the project by adding the binding. If you don't get time to quite finish everything, Emma will make sure you have the know-how to continue at home, together with a full set of instructions.

Marcus Brigstocke – Vitruvian Mango
Saturday 8 March, Landmark Arts Centre, Doors open: 6.45pm for 7.30pm.

What are men for? Most heavy things can be lifted by machines and most problems can be solved by computers and most puddles can be crossed without us gallantly draping our capes over them – so are we fellas of any use at all?
Award winning MAN Marcus Brigstocke thinks we might still serve some useful function. But what is it? This new tour show will resolve the entire issue once and for all (in a non-patriarchal, open minded, progressive sort of way).
DaVinci's Vitruvian Man is the image of the ideal male form. Marcus' Vitruvian Mango is the same, but sweeter, softer, seasonally available and, when ripe, delicately perfumed.

Weave a Landscape
Sunday 9 March, United Response, 10am - 5pm.

In this full day course, Hilary will teach you all the skills necessary to produce your own tapestry woven landscape. Using a simple frame loom and a variety of yarns, you'll spend the day learning how to weave your design, using various techniques, both traditional and 3D.
All materials, including loom and yarns, are included, so you'll be able to continue practising at home on your loom.
The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some prior experience of tapestry weaving. You'll be able to work on a sampler of techniques or, if you've attended a class before, why not create your own design?
