A Teddington household was left 'shaken' last night (February 16) after their home was reportedly broken into - despite police saying they have stepped up patrols.

Residents on King Edward's Grove are the latest to come forward in what police had said are potentially 'linked' incidents across the town in the past week.

They told Nub News burglars went through the downstairs and cellar of their property, saying a number of items were taken on Sunday, 16 February.

"Police are stepping up their patrols and think they will catch them soon," the resident said.

But the latest incident comes just as local police said they are stepping up patrols following a number of 'linked' attempted break ins last week.

Two incidents of attempted break ins last Wednesday, 12 February, were shared with Nub News along with doorbell footage.

The first incident took place at around 1.30am on King Edward's Grove on 12 February and the second took place took place about half an hour later on Cromwell Road.

Both incidents involved three masked men who were unsuccessful with their break ins and occurred while the residents slept.

In a statement shared with Nub News today, the police said: "Local Safer Neighbourhood Officers are aware of a series of linked attempted burglaries across Hampton Wick and South Teddington TW11 in the early hours of Wednesday 12 February 2025.

"Our officers have increased reassurance patrols in the area and provided crime prevention advice to residents whilst each incident is investigated.

"Burglary continues to be a priority for our local SNT teams and officers will continue to provide updates and reassurance through engaging with residents, Neighbour Watch groups and on our police WhatsApp channels."
