Future of former Teddington Police Station to be decided this summer

A decision as to what will happen to the site of the former Teddington Police Station will be made this summer.
A spokesperson for the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) told Teddington Nub News: "The future of Teddington Police Station is subject to the outcome of the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) Estates Strategy, which will be published towards the end of the summer.
"The Mayor's record £1.16bn investment in the Met has saved vital neighbourhood police officer roles and ensures officers are visible in the capital's high streets and work proactively with local communities to help build a safer London for everyone."
The station closed in 2017 and was consequently put up for sale in 2021.
Since its closure, local MP Munira Wilson has been fighting for the building to be repurposed and even wrote to Met Police Commissioner, Sir Rowley about the matter in October last year.
At the time, Munira MP told Teddington Nub News: "I've fought for Teddington Police Station twice.
"First, I fought against its closure, and then, when it was put up for sale, I fought for the station to be repurposed for community use.
"We can't let this precious site in the heart of Teddington to continue to lie derelict, especially when it could be used for a much-need new GP surgery and affordable housing."
