   Bushy Park and other parkruns cancelled due to clash with safety inspections

The Royal Parks have also confirmed that Bushy and Richmond parks will only open when its officers deem it safe.

1. 15pm: Park Road has re-opened

The huge tree blocking Park Road has been cleared and the road is open to traffic again.

4pm:

Another huge tree brought down by the storm in Teddington as Council deals with incidents across the borough

A house and garages have been damaged after a massive tree snapped and crashed into them.

Richmond Council has been dealing with at least 30 tree incidents across the borough today.

Fallen trees on major routes including Hanworth Road, Hampton Court Road and Teddington's Park Road.

Trees have also toppled on Gloucester and Ashley Roads in Hampton, Council leader Gareth Roberts reported on Twitter.

Clapham station has been evacuated and multiple trees are blocking trail lines.

Massive tree brought down in Teddington by the high winds

A large tree fell and blocked Park Road this morning as gusts of over 40mph battered Teddington.

Images have also emerged of a tree on Kingston Lane with a huge branch broken off by the storm.

11am:

The Met Office has today issued a Red Weather Warning: Wind for London and much of South East England.

The warning means that Storm Eunice is expected to cause "significant disruption and dangerous conditions" due to extremely strong winds.

Flying debris resulting in danger to life, damage to buildings and homes, road closures, transport delays and power cuts should all be expected.

In Teddington, winds of over 30 miles per hour have been forecast between 10 and 3pm, with highs of 43mph at midday.

All COVID-19 mobile testing and vaccination sites in London will be closed today due to the extreme weather, according to Richmond Council.

People who have booked in for today will receive a message asking them to rebook, the authority added.

Updates from yesterday

HIGH WINDS of over 40mph have been forecast for Teddington tomorrow (18 February) as the Met Office warns that Storm Eunice could cause "significant disruption" across much of the UK.

Gusts ranging from 40 to 46 miles per hour are expected to hit the town between 10am and 1pm and there will be high winds of above 30mph for much of the day.

It comes as the Met Office issues an Amber Weather Warning for most regions in England including London and the South East, from 3am to 9pm tomorrow, due to the arrival of Storm Eunice.

The Amber warning means that damage to buildings and homes, falling branches, public transport delays and power cuts are all likely as a result of the strong winds.

There is also a good chance that flying debris could result in a danger to life.

A 'warning impact matrix' by the Met Office shows that the winds will be high impact and are quite likely.

Following the news, the Royal Parks - which runs Bushy and Richmond Parks - announced that all of its playgrounds in its parks will be closed tomorrow.

Teddington's Park Lane Stables have also cancelled their planned outdoor activities for 18 Feb.

In a statement today the stables said: "We have had to make the difficult decision to cancel all activities tomorrow.

"We have not taken this decision lightly but we prioritise safety and have taken heed of the met office warning. We hope everyone stays safe and well."

Update: Richmond Council have now issued a storm warning along with the following advice:

To prepare for tomorrow's storm, consider the below:

- Secure loose objects such as bins, garden furniture and anything else that could be moved by wind

- Park vehicles in a garage, if available; otherwise keep them clear of buildings, trees, walls and fences

- If you have plans to visit local attractions or parks, check whether they will still be open

During the storm, consider the below:

- Stay indoors as much as possible

- If damage is caused, do not go outside to repair it whilst the storm is in progress

- Report fallen trees immediately by calling 020 8891 1411 or reporting online
