A Scout Group in Hampton Hill has issued an urgent appeal for volunteers to lead its two Cub packs this summer.

The 3rd Hampton Hill Scout Group (3HH) warned last week that one of the packs will have to close in September if leaders are not found for the summer term.

Two leaders are needed for the group's Monday pack, which is at risk of closure, while one is needed for the Wednesday group.

3HH Assistant Group Scout Leader Paul Fitchett told Nub News : "The great news is that each Cub pack has a team of helpers in place, there's ongoing support within the group still and we have a great training programme to equip you with all you need to be a great leader - you even get a free uniform!

"Volunteering has so many benefits, from fulfilment and learning new skills, to increased social activity and friendship.

"Not only is it great for your mental health, it's great fun and can be so rewarding."

As well as Cub Packs, 3HH has a single Colony of Beavers on a Friday evening, two Scout troops and Peake Explorers for older teenagers.

In total 100 children take part in activities with the Group every week.

"We're looking forward to the easing of restrictions after Easter that will allow a return to face to face Scouting," added Fitchett.

The 3HH headquarters is at George Stanley Hall, next to the Recreation Ground in School Road Avenue in Hampton Hill.
