Teddington travelled to Purely John Fisher RFC on Saturday and left it late to secure a win that never looked likely for large periods of the game.

At the halfway point of the league season, Teddington remain on top with 11 wins out of 11, having played some fantastic rugby over the last few months.

However this week required some different qualities from the Antlers, specifically the ability to stay in the game and dig deep when things looked to be unravelling.

In recent seasons this would have been a game that would have slipped away, but this year things are different.

Purley dominated a first half and turned around two trys to the good and leading 10-0.

Injuries started to take their toll, with the Antlers losing Jack Miller, Callum Johnson, Adam Causer and Joe Stainer to the sidelines.

With 15 minutes to go Bob Beevers finally got the visitors on the scoresheet with a penalty to make it 10-3, then up stepped George Bradford, normally seen on the wing for Teddington, but making a cameo at prop forward this week, who collected the ball on the 22 and powered over, bursting through a few tackles en route to the line.

The Antlers started to believe that the great escape was on the cards and it was Bradford again who one won the turnover and the resultant penalty which Teddington's Mr. Reliable, Beevers duly converted.

Teddington held on, with captain Jack MILLER returning to the field with an injured shoulder to see us over the line. This was a tough on PJF as they looked likely winners for most of the afternoon.

For Teddington, they visit 2nd placed Old Rutlishians next week, in what should be another huge game.

Final Score Purely John Fisher RFC 10 Teddington RFC 13. Man of the Match George BRADFORD.

The 2nd XV made the short trip to Barnes RFC for their merit table clash with Barnes Occasionals on Saturday. Barnes were a strong, well drilled side who dominated possession and didn't allow Teddington to play.

There were strong performances from centres Tom Cranmer and Sammy O'Brien, but the Occies ran out worthy winners.

Final Score Barnes Occasionals 23 Teddington 3.

On Sunday the women hosted Hammersmith & Fulham at Bushy Park. It was the first time this season that Teddington have fielded a full squad of players for a game, and there was much anticipation to see how the new and returning recruits would perform.

From the first whistle Teddington set their stall out with some aggressive defending, putting the opposition under pressure every time they were in possession.

The game remained scoreless until the half hour mark, when a period of sustained pressure from the Antlers resulted in a try for Courtney Ellis which was converted by Laura Mackay.

H&F kicked a penalty just before the break and the ladies turned around 7-3 to the good. The second half started in a similar manner and Teddington stretched their lead when Amy Stratford showed some great footwork by running in a try from halfway.

The Hammers came back though, and relentlessly tested the Antlers defence, which began to show a few cracks as the game went on.

Hammersmith ran out winners in the end but a great game of rugby and on this form surely the first win of the season is not far way for the Teddington Women.

Final Score Teddington Women 12 Hammersmith & Fulham Women 27.

The Colts travelled to North West London on Sunday to take on Ruislip and looking to build on last week's Cup success. The boys didn't disappoint recording a resounding victory on the road.

Final Score Ruislip Colts 10 Teddington Colts 36.
