London Exiles were the latest side to attempt to break Teddington's impressive winning run this season, and despite their position at the foot of the table, they made the league leaders work hard for their victory and probably deserved more than they got from their afternoons work.
Again Teddington rotated their line-up, resting skipper Jack Miller and fly half Bob Beevers, and giving a first start to young colt Gabe Roberts.
The hosts got off to a perfect start, moving the ball quickly and sending Harry Smith under the posts in the first five minutes. Roberts converted and it looked as though it could be a tough afternoon for the visitors.
Teddington continued to apply the pressure and further trys followed from flankers Alfie Ransom and Rory Mercer, which saw the Antlers turn around 19-0 to the good.
Playing down the slope in the second half has served the home side well in recent weeks, but not so much this week, in part due to the lack of wind assistance, but mostly due to an organised Exiles side who constantly stopped Teddington from getting their attacking game going.
Max Aitken finally got the crucial 4th try and with it the bonus point, but that was the only return from the second period. London Exiles put a lot of pressure on the hosts as they searched for what would have been a deserved consolation try, but the Teddington defence was incredibly well marshalled and very impressive.
They kept the attacks at bay and secured their first clean sheet of the season.
Next week Teddington go to Old Haileyburians, which will no doubt be another stern test as the league season enters its final stretch. All eyes are on promotion now, but there are still battles to be won to make that a reality.
Final Score Teddington RFC 26 London Exiles RFC 0. Man of the Match Olly Holland.
The Teddington Colts were out in force on Sunday sending two sides out. One side went down to Reigate for a cup tie, but unfortunately came away on the wrong end of a 19-3 defeat. The other side took on local rivals Weybridge Vandals at Bushy Park in a friendly.
The boys faced paced, high octane rugby was too much for the visitors to handle as they scored 7 trys and ran out 41-0 winners.
Final Scores Reigate Colts 19 Teddington Colts 3, Teddington Colts 41 Weybridge Vandals Colts 0
