A rail replacement bus service scuppered the Teddies plans for a night out in Brighton's after the game, but it didn't stifle their commitment to taking all three points away on the South Coast this week. Robbie Shep reports on Teddington's victory in Sussex.

Pressing high from the first whistle, the Teddington 1s created a number of good chances in the first half, forcing turnovers as the Hove defence struggled to play out from the back.

Jags Gil broke the deadlock in the 2nd quarter, amazingly firing home his 249th national league goal with a drag-flick high into the top right corner of the net. Despite the chances created by the away side, the score remained 0-1 at half time.

More of the same was on show during the second half, Teddington pressing high and creating chances. El Smith doubled the lead from another short corner with a low flick that proved to be too hard for the Brighton goalkeeper, who to his credit was having an exceptional game.

Brighton then tried to deliver some pressing of their own, however struggled to neutralise the dangerous Teddington aerial ball. It took not one, but two green cards for Teddington, dished out in the same phase of play, to allow Brighton in and to build some pressure. They pulled a goal back with an unfortunate deflected shot.

The Teddington men remained composed and after getting back to a full compliment on the pitch, rifled in a third goal courtesy of a Kyle White rocket. Goal of the day, Kyle picked up the ball running into the right of the D and smashed it past the goalkeeper's head.

However, a game that should have been done and dusted, then came to life - again through a third green card for Teddington and a second scrappy goal for Brighton.

Teddington's class however saw them out, as they wrapped up the three points with a fourth goal when Callum Swinnow latched onto a ball to get his first goal for the club. Overall, a good performance, which should have resulted in more goals and less cards.
