The Teddington Ladies 1s faced West Herts 1s in a must win game to ensure they remained in the top 3 in the London Women's Premier Division. Olivia D'Castro reports on a big win for Teddington.

After an exciting first 15 minutes, with both teams creating promising attacks, Teddington scored a great team goal with Captain Eleanor Jolly slotting the ball past the keeper.

However, West Herts came back fighting immediately with a deflected goal coming from a short corner.

With Teddington controlling the majority of the possession, they were eager to push on and get another goal before half time. After a number of excellent saves by West Herts keeper, Lily St Clair picked up a loose ball in the circle and excellently steered the ball past the keeper scoring her first goal of the season.

Teddington started the second half strongly, with a goal after only three minutes by Olivia D'Castro. However, the umpire blew the whistle just before the goal went in and instead Teddington were awarded a short corner.

This disappointment did not affect Alex Hurst, who from the short corner, creatively flicked the ball into the roof of the net extending Teddington's lead to 3-1.

As West Herts tired, the game opened up and Teddington continued to pressurise their defence. An excellent intercept by Hermine Narnio and a smooth movement around the keeper by Jude King led to Teddington's 4th goal.

To finish off the game, Marianna Garcia Moritan received the ball at the top of the circle and executed an inch perfect reverse stick to add to her season's goal tally.

A fine performance from Teddington who will look to carry on the streak against Kings & Alleyn's next week.
