Following an emphatic 3-1 win against Tulse Hill and Dulwich in last week's top of the table clash, this week, Teddington Ladies 1s faced Wapping 2s at home.
In an edgy start to the game, Teddington created plenty of chances, but unusually struggled to convert.
Wapping set up a very deep defensive line designed to simply block entry to the D and were also maintaining defensive pressure with some strong tackling.
In attack, Teddington did well in the first quarter to keep the opposition out when they mounted a solid short corner routine.
But like many a game, the momentum can pivot on a key moment and Teddington's opening came from a long corner which saw Jess Hibell weave her way into the D and win a short corner on the stroke of half time. Captain Eleanor Jolly took the strike dispatching it sweetly into the bottom left corner to head into the break 1-0 up.
A motivating analysis of tactics for the second half sent the Teddies back out with fresh impetus and they began to trust in their superior stick skills and the form that has brought them much success this season already. They went 2-0 up after 40 minutes with a great finish from Mai Garcia Moritan. And from there they kept the pressure on holding their shape and working fast patterns.
Another one came from Garcia Moritanbefore the Captain Jolly slotted home from yet another short corner to make it 4-0. Mimi Harvey and Beck Hurley also added to the score sheet and they ran out convincing winners with a confident clean sheet performance from Teddies' keeper Issy Pinder.
