Today's story is one for all the budding gnat-uralists out there, as only six years ago a new species of fly was discovered right here in Teddington's Bushy Park!
Amateur dipterist Peter Chandler was studying fungus gnats he'd found in the park's Waterhouse Woodland Gardens, when he observed that the gnats' genitals were different to those of the species common in Britain, Grzegorzekia collaris.

Teddington's riverside restaurant The Wharf and its generous customers have raised over £800 for the local football club Hearts of Teddlothian FC through its unique fund-raising partnership with the Richmond community lottery, Get Lucky Local, it was announced yesterday (7 June).
The lottery and the popular restaurant joined forces to launch a new initiative by inviting customers to add £1 to their restaurant bill and the Wharf agreed to match the sum to purchase 1056 lottery tickets for the big lottery draw last Saturday.

Teddington's Park Lane Stables have released an update on their move to new premises in Petersham after new photos emerged giving a first look into the stables' temporary home.
In a post on Facebook today, the stables said transition to their new location has been smooth and the horses are happy.

A Teddington children's theatre company has announced it will be performing at Kingston's Rose Theatre this summer after a tough year for small businesses and the arts industry.
Dragon Drama have run improvisation workshops for infants, children and teenagers in the Teddington and Hampton Wick area for almost 30 years and have famous patrons including Colin Firth, Dame Judi Dench and rising theatre star Grace Molony.

Plans to change the electoral boundary of the constituency Teddington is in have been revealed (8 June).
Twickenham, which is currently represented by Munira Wilson MP, could change shape in 2023 if the proposals from the Boundary Commission for England are approved.
