Teddington church and Richmond Council remember Grenfell Tower victims

Richmond Council and Teddington parish church both took actions to commemorate the Grenfell Tower fire last night (14 June), four years to the day since the tragedy happened.

York House, the location of Richmond Council's offices, was lit up in green alongside other civic buildings in London as a mark of remembrance, compassion and solidarity.

Parkrun, the international charity which runs popular 5k events around the world including in Bushy Park, has responded to news yesterday evening (14 June) that the end of the UK lockdown will be delayed by four weeks to July 19.

The charity now aims to re-start its 5k races on Saturday 24 July, rather than on the 26 June as originally planned.

Young deer hit and killed by cyclist in Richmond Park

A young deer was hit and killed by a cyclist in Richmond Park last weekend, leading the Royal Parks Police to issue a reminder to visitors to take extra care during deer birthing season.

The fallow deer fawn was knocked down on Broomfield Hill, which runs along the south-east edge of the park, on Saturday (12 June.)

Harrison Ford, star of Indiana Jones and Star Wars, recently dropped into a bike store in Hampton Wick to the amazement of staff and customers.

The Hollywood legend, 78, has been filming Indiana Jones in the North of England but took a break out of his busy schedule to visit Sigma Sports on Hampton Wick high street's parade of shops on Wednesday (9 June) this week.
