An exciting new photography competition has been launched by the Royal Parks, with two pairs of top-quality binoculars up for grabs for the winners.

All you need to do is take a photo of a bird listed on the parks' new bird-spotting guide to Bushy Park and post it on social media with the name of the park, the bird, the competition category and the hashtag #KeepWildlifeWild by 1 August.

Team GB gold-medallist Christine Ohuruogu MBE will be at the event in Teddington next week

A galaxy of former British Olympian stars including gold medal winners will appear on a panel in Teddington to discuss their own careers and the upcoming Games in Tokyo next Tuesday night (July 20).

The four panellists will be Roger Black , MBE and Olympic and World Championship 400 metre silver medallist, Christine Ohuruogu , MBE. who has won Olympic gold, silver and bronze in the 400 metres, Mark Hunter MBE an Olympic gold and silver medal winning rower and swimmer Mark Foster , who represented Britain in the Olympics and won six World Championship titles.

Teddington's main waste and recycling centre will be closed for "longer than anticipated" due to the extent of damage from a fire at the site last month.

Richmond Council has closed bookings for Townmead Road Re-use and Recycling Centre , the main waste and recycling centre in the borough, as safety inspections carried out at the start of July showed more work was needed to make the site safe.
