A community bid for Teddington's Udney Park Playing Fields is due to be submitted early next month, as the expiry date for its protection from commercial bids fast approaches.

Jonathan Dunn, a local resident and leader of the Udney Park Community Fields Trust which is making the bid, told Nub News that his group will be making an offer before 2 August.

Teddington's MP Munira Wilson has co-signed a letter urging South Western Railway to make masks compulsory on their trains, after speaking out against the easing of social distancing restrictions on 19 July.

Wilson and her fellow south west London Liberal Democrat MPs Sarah Olney and Ed Davey signed the letter on Friday 16 July, four days before so-called 'Freedom Day,' took place.

Temperatures in Teddington soared to 31 degrees today after a weekend of sweltering weather which saw many people taking to the river to cool off.

Teddington 'beach' returned as sun-bathers filled the small sandy patch between the two footbridges in the afternoon of Saturday 17 July, with many going for a dip in the Thames.

IN a shocking new photo posted over the weekend, Bushy Park deer can be seen fighting over a plastic bag filled with bread, bashing their antlers together in what one park ranger dubbed 'the bread rut.'

The picture, which has caused outrage online, was taken by volunteer park ranger Cathy Cooper and posted on Saturday July 17.
