Distressing images show the devastating effect of litter in the parks (Image: Royal Parks)

Royal Parks staff said they were "staggered" after finding an entire sofa set dumped in Bushy Park this summer, amid a shocking rise of litter in London's parks.

The colourful sofa suite was left jammed between a mature oak tree in the park and took time and money to remove, the charity said, in a blog posted to their website last Thursday (5 August).

Popular Teddington doughnut shop Olly's Donuts will be spreading joy to customers for the last time this weekend as head chef and founder Oliver Tyrwhitt pursues other opportunities.

Olly's Donuts, an artisan doughnut shop run by Olly and his wife Wai, received rave reviews from locals after it opened during lockdown last year.

A council boss has said Richmond Park is "not a petting zoo" after members of the public were caught feeding and stroking deer.

It comes as Royal Parks Police officers took to Twitter to warn park users for getting too close to deer and encouraging their children to feed them and breaking branches off protected trees – breaching park rules.
