The popular Teddington community pub, The Builders Arms, which closed down in June last year, is up for sale for £1m Nub News can reveal today.

The future of the pub on Field Lane has been the subject of considerable speculation including talk of former regulars setting up a consortium to save the local boozer.

According to the estate agents Fleurets – specialists in pub sales – the two-storey building consists of accommodation, a single bar operation with approximately 60 covers, a games area at the rear, 3 bedrooms, living room, bathroom and separate WC, split level kitchen, basement storage room, beer store, wines and spirits store and a garden area with split-level patio with tables and seating.

The tenure is freehold and any fixtures and fittings which remain on the premises at the time of sale will be included. A viewing session for potential interested parties is being held this Friday between 11am and 12noon. Booking is required and is strictly by appointment with Fleurets (020 7280 4700)

The 3,260 square-feet pub continues to have a licence to sell alcohol Monday to Thursday 10am to 11pm and Friday and Saturday 10am until midnight with possible live music, films and indoor sporting events. It has a rateable value of £18,400 (with effect from April 1st 2023)

To those unfamiliar with the location, the estate agent describes the pub as being in a prime residential location in a 'much sought after' south west London suburb of Teddington and a short walk from the High Street and the mainline station. Local attractions include the River Thames, Royal Bushy Park and Hampton Court Palace.

According to the estate agents, the London borough of Richmond upon Thames has confirmed the property is not Grade Listed but is locally listed, and is within the Blackmores Grove Conservation Area and there is potential for residential conversion.
