What's on in Teddington is brought to you by the Landmark Arts Centre, The Abercorn Arms, The King's Head, and The Wharf.  

Welcome to your weekly What's on in Teddington.  

Every Thursday we round up all the eye-catching events occurring in your area over the weekend.

Friday 12 January

Botanical Art: Drawing and Watercolour - five week course, Landmark Arts Centre, 1:30pm-4pm 

Promised yourself you would take up a new hobby/learn a new skill in 2024? The Landmark Arts Centre is hosting numerous workshops to help you do just that. Learn the art of botanical painting and drawing using watercolour and pencil with an emphasis on accurate description. These classes are designed for those with some experience.

Join us on a magical journey as we follow Dorothy on her journey along the yellow brick road, to the Emerald City in search of a way home. Along the way she meets many loveable friends who help her on her journey, the Scarecrow, the Tinman and the Lion. But the journey is not plain sailing for the Wicked Witch has other plans to try and stop Dorothy.

The Piano Bar with Paul Miller, The Wharf, 7:30pm 

Paul is an experienced and versatile pianist /vocalist who performs classic and modern pop songs and jazz standards. He has played worldwide on cruises, in Hotels and Restaurants and at dedicated music venues such as Ronnie Scotts, Pianoworks, The Boisdale and Jazz at Pizza express.

Chris McCausland: Yonks!, Twickenham Exchange, 8-10pm

You might have seen him on Scared of the Dark, Would I Lie to You, Have I Got News for You, The Royal Variety, QI, Blankety Blank, The Last Leg, and tons more as well. He's been called an "overnight success" – Even though he's been doing this for bloody yonks! Chris McCausland is hitting the road again with another masterclass in stand-up comedy that has literally been yonks in the making. The last tour was a sell-out, so get your tickets now!

NEW: Hampton Wick Photography Exhibition, Hampton Wick Library, 10am-6pm 

A free exhibition of work by local photographers, featuring different perspectives of Hampton Wick including empty, black and white streetscapes by Dave Rees, unusual angles by James Bell and arresting views from the Park by Alan Crossland. 

The exhibition aims to help people to see and appreciate Hampton Wick in new ways. Open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

LAST CHANCE: The Wizard of Oz, Hampton Hill Theatre, 2:30pm

The Peter Jones Trio, The Wharf, 1:30pm 

Peter Jones is a singer, bass player and composer who has performed at jazz venues across London, including Ronnie Scott's and Pizza Express, and further afield from the Sands Hotel, Margate, to the Speakeasy Jazz Club in Portishead. He has also recorded five albums, two of them with the band Zoöphyte. 

Sunday Quiz, The Abercorn Arms, 7:30pm  

Get your thinking caps on and sharpen your competitive streak with a pub quiz! 1st prize is a £50 tab voucher with rollover jackpot questions. Food served until 10pm.
