SATURDAY to SUNDAY: Surrey Sculpture Society at the Landmark Arts Centre

Beautiful sculptures by local artists are coming to the Landmark Arts Centre this weekend in an exhibition that is FREE to enter!

The Landmark is hosting Surrey Sculpture Society's first exhibition of the year with 2D and 3D work on display.

"Sculptor Kate Viner, commissioned for various public arts projects during her career, will be our signature artist for the event and will share with us insights into her life as a sculptor."

There is also a programme of demonstrations and interactive workshops that will take place this weekend and on the 5th to the 6th of March.

FRIDAY to SATURDAY: King Lear at Hampton Hill Theatre

The newly founded Rhinoceros Theatre company brings its production of the classic Shakespeare play to Hampton Hill Theatre.

Award-winning former Financial Times film critic Nigel Andrews - founder of Rhinoceros Theatre - takes on the title role in the show directed by Fiona Smith.

Andrews "believes that every critic, before nestling into retirement, should bare himself to the chastening lash of his own profession" and says he is ready for the bad reviews - or the "greater shock" of good ones.

Tickets are £15 and the play starts at 7.45pm on both evenings.

FRIDAY: Landmark Book Club: Shuggie Bain

The Landmark's monthly book-club is back, this time to discuss the Booker-prize winning novel Shuggie Bain.

"Hosted by staff from Waterstones, our friendly sessions are the perfect way to meet like-minded readers and discover exciting new reads.

"We explore short stories, novels, non-fiction, poetry, and bestsellers."

The book club takes place at lunchtime, from 1-2pm, and costs £5 to attend (£3.50 concessions).

SATURDAY: Kingston Royals Dragon Boat Club New Paddler Session at Trowlock Way, Teddington

The Dragon Boat club are recruiting new members for 2022 and this is a great way to 'test the waters' and see if the sport is for you!

"Want to try a competitive, friendly and exciting team sport? Come and try dragon boating!

"Dragon Boat Racing is a great way to build fitness, strength and endurance and make new friends as part of a fast and competitive team sport."

Cost: £20 for the first two sessions.
