A 98 year old former nurse has left Teddington Memorial Hospital after recovering from Covid-19.

Rosalind Panton had been in hospital for seven weeks but received an emotional round of applause as she was discharged.

Despite suffering from severe arthritis Rosa completed a 99m walk for cancer research UK.

It comes after her nephew died just a month before of cancer.

The walk raised £1400 and Rosa is not stopping yet.

She said: "I'd really like to do another walk for charity.

"I'm nearly 99 - not out.

"I'll be sad to leave the hospital - it's like a second home."

Rosa also thanked the staff for all of their work.
