Watch 18 year old volunteer Morgan's emotional video for her grandad
Crossroads Care's youngest volunteer, 18 year old Morgan Nossiter from Teddington, has kept her grandad's spirits up by performing her own 'virtual show.'
Morgan, a full-time musical theatre student at a local college, has produced a video showing how she is keeping in touch with her grandad, Richard, during the pandemic.
As well as singing his favourite show tunes to him on Facetime she gave him a private concert outside of the window of his home with a microphone so he could SEE her as well as HEAR her on his birthday when she sang Hallelujah.
"As well as volunteering I have wanted to keep in touch with my grandad who has always been my biggest inspiration. He comes from an amateur dramatic background so he's always been able to belt out a song!
"Two years ago, he was diagnosed with dementia but for the past few months I've been able to Facetime him and do a singing session, which I am sure has cheered him and brightened his day.
"As I hadn't seen him for three and a half months, I performed an outdoor concert for his birthday at the weekend," she said.
A spokesperson from Crossroads Care said:"What a wonderful way to show you care and to lift the spirits of your grandad during the lockdown. For the moment, this really is the new way of caring."
