Teddington's resident rock superstar, Steve Hackett, formerly lead guitarist with Genesis, last night signed off from his massive UK tour with a sell-out concert at the Eventbrite Hammersmith Apollo.

The 72-year-old sold out 25 venues over the last year following up from a massive world tour taking in the US, Australia and most of Europe.

The tour, called Genesis Revisited, reprises the band's classic album Foxtrot, which was released 50 years ago, as well as tracks from his solo album Surrender in Silence, written during lockdown. The tour will resume in Italy next month.

In an exclusive interview with Teddington Nub News earlier this year, Steve and his partner Jo-Jo revealed they were still getting to know the area because of his heavy touring schedule.

He did admit he was a big fan of the many coffee shops in the High Street and Broad Street as well as the restaurant Shambles and Bar Estilo.

The icon even recorded a short documentary called Somewhere in Darkest Teddington with his co-producer Roger King to accompany the making of his 2016 album The Night Siren, which you can watch on YouTube HERE.
