This is not just any refurb, it's an M&S refurb: Teddington's Marks & Spencer ditches 'bleak' exterior

Marks & Spencer in Teddington has a whole new look, which is more in keeping with the heritage of High Street.
The large windows covered in black vinal have been reconfigured with clear glass and adornment to blend in with the village's historic look.
The refurb follows The Teddington Society's complaints that the blackened-out windows were inappropriate in a conservation area.

Speaking about the store's new exterior, Carol Kehoe, Customer Colleague at M&S said: "I think it makes it brighter, and customers can see in from the street. The customer feedback has been very positive. I heard from the Teddington Society that they like it too."
M&S' Teddington store previously underwent a full renovation in August.

The Teddington Society also wrote to Sainsbury's in the High Street about its scruffy frontage but has not received a response.
