Bushy Park’s Chestnut Sunday to return next month

Bushy Park's annual, family-friendly celebration, Chestnut Sunday is returning on 11 May.
This event pays homage to the blossom of the horse chestnut trees that line Chestnut Avenue; an iconic feature of the park planted over 300 years ago.
It serves as a vibrant community gathering, combining tradition, entertainment, and a celebration of local culture.
A highlight of Chestnut Sunday is the colourful parade that proceeds down Chestnut Avenue, showcasing an array of performers, vintage vehicles, and community groups.
The parade starts at 12.30pm on Chestnut Avenue (Teddington Gate) and
leads to the main event area near the children's playground.
Visitors can also enjoy a lively funfair with rides and attractions suitable for all ages, an arena show, featuring horse riding demonstrations from the Horse Rangers, live music, and a D-Day Exhibit.
Additionally, the event features an array of stalls hosted by local organisations, charities, and community groups.
These stalls offer a variety of activities, information, and goods, providing an opportunity to support and engage with the local community.
Chestnut Sunday is not only a celebration of the park's natural beauty but also a testament to the spirit and unity of the people who attend.
Family activities include pony rides with ponies from Park Lane Stables, classic games, and activities celebrating the wonderful world of nature.
