- Raffle with great prizes
Speaking about why it chose to support Refuge UK, The Builders Arms said: "We are raising money for Refuge UK, supporting women and children experiencing domestic abuse. This cause is deeply personal to us.
"Last year, a family member of a local resident survived a brutal attack by her ex-partner, which left her tetraplegic and changed her life forever.
"What happened to her is devastating—but it's not as rare as many people think.
"Domestic abuse doesn't always start with violence. It can begin with coercive control, isolation, and emotional abuse, often hidden behind closed doors.
"It can happen to anyone, regardless of age, background, or circumstances. Too many women feel trapped, unheard, or unable to access help.
"That's why organisations like Refuge are so vital. They provide safe spaces, support, and a lifeline for those trying to escape abuse and rebuild their lives.
"By coming along, you're not just supporting a fundraiser, you're helping raise awareness, challenge silence, and show that no one has to face this alone."
If you cannot attend the event, you can still donate to the pub's fundraiser by scanning the QR code in the image below.
