Teddington pub sale part of Greene King’s new pub estate strategy

The freehold of a popular Teddington pub has been put up for sale.
Greene King said it was exploring selling the Teddington Arms, on High Street, as part of its new pub estate strategy.
The firm announced the strategy earlier this year in a bid to deliver "sustainable and profitable growth" for the future. It identified around 300 pubs that it said would be better served under different models.
Greene King is exploring selling half of these pubs over the medium term, including The Teddington Arms, with the other half to be converted to leased and tenanted or franchise venues run by independent operators.
The Teddington Arms is being marketed by property specialists AG&G, with the listing on Rightmove stating the price is available on request.
The freehold includes the ground-floor pub and one two-bed flat above, as the remaining upper-floor flats are already sold off on long leases.
The pub reopened under the ownership of Greene King after a revamp in October 2022.
The makeover saw the pub reopen with a new bar area, upgraded seating areas and new food menu.
A Greene King spokesperson said: "As part of our pub estate strategy to set us up to deliver sustainable and profitable growth for the future, we are now exploring all options available to us regarding the future of the Teddington Arms, including a potential sale.
"The pub remains open and trading as usual."
