Welcome to the Teddington Nub News morning briefing for Thursday 7 October with the latest local weather, traffic and what's on.

Weather news

Flood alerts: The Environment Agency has put out a Flood Alert for the Thames at Trowlock Island.

Floods possible at high tide this afternoon around 4,30pm, river may burst banks and flood land and footpaths.

Property flooding is not expected. The height of the tide is estimated to be 4.85 - 5.05 metres but both previous tides were higher than forecast so be careful if you're in the area.

UPDATE: There is now also a flood alert for Teddington Weir and Lock, meaning low lying roads and footpaths nearby are likely to be flooded for one to two hours around high tide. Flood alert also covers the path to Richmond so if you're a cyclist commuting you may want to take another route.

Other weather: the Met Office says it will be breezy today with cloud coverage and none of yesterday's lovely sun, sadly. Today will be warmer though, with highs of 19° in the afternoon. Pollution and UV low.

Today's sunrise: 07:11

Today's sunset: 18:26
