Teddington-based personal trainer volunteers for NSPCC to offer London Marathon participants sports massages

A Teddington-based personal trainer joined the NSPCC to offer sports massagers to runners of the London Marathon which took place yesterday (Sunday, 27 May), on a voluntary basis.
Vicky McNeil, the founder of Teddington Training, a business which offers personal training sessions and sports massage therapy, volunteered with 30 other sports massage therapists from across the country to treat those who ran for the NSPCC to a massage post-marathon.

The massage team treated 176 runners "out of a possible 500", says McNeil.
In an exclusive interview with Teddington Nub News, McNeil said: It was very hot, and a lot of the runners hobbled in exhausted.
"We mainly treated runners' legs, and there was a lot of people who had pain and real stiffness.
"The atmosphere was amazing with friends and families of the runners there to support them."

McNeil explained that the team had a variety of people come in for massages, ranging from first-time marathon runners to "seasoned" participants.
She added that runners started to go to the massage team from around 1.pm.

McNeil said: "We were there until 7pm treating the last runners.
"It was hot and exhausting, but the energy and atmosphere was amazing. and it felt so good to be able to offer a massage to these inspirational people."
