It is a tough time for local sports groups as further pandemic restrictions mean that no more than six people can play inside.

Luckily SporTedd is here to help. The local community group aims to support local sports initiatives and projects.

Today SporTedd urged any organisation struggling as a result of the impact of the pandemic to apply for financial backing.

The group, which was launched over two years ago, has raised significant funds through local events with top sports speakers such as Lord Coe and Sir Clive Woodward has already given donations of over £12.000 to twelve locally sport-themed projects.

Donations have ranged from £500 to £2000 and have been awards to schools and charities all over the Richmond Borough to provide vital kit and equipment and create a lasting benefit.

SporTedd Chair, Stuart Higgins, said: "Many organisations have had a very tough time during the pandemic and their ability to raise funds through events has been impossible.

"The local council and, in some cases, the government has provided some kind of lifeline but SporTedd may be able to help make a difference during these difficult times."
