Remembrance Day services taking place in Teddington and across the borough
Remembrance Day services are taking place in Teddington and across the Richmond borough this year to commemorate British Service Members who have died in wars and other military conflicts since the onset of World War I.
Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, falls on 11 November, with the occasion also marked every year on the second Sunday of November, known as Remembrance Sunday.
With Remembrance Sunday services organised by the Royal British Legion and local Church authorities, there will be services near to residents who will be able to pay their respects and recognise the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended the country's freedoms and protected our way of life.
The services will be attended by Members of the Council and local Members of Parliament. Residents are invited to join their local commemoration of British and Commonwealth soldiers, sailors, airmen and women as well as the members of the emergency services and civilians to ensure that no-one is forgotten.
Teddington's Stanley Primary School will be hosting a Remembrance Day service on the 11th November starting at 10.45am, which will be attended by local councillor Caroline Wren.
On Remembrance Sunday, a service will also take place in Teddington beginning from the Teddington Memorial Hospital at 10am and will be attended by Councillor Charlie Engel.
Teddington's High Street will be closed from the junction of Broad Street to Ferry Road from approximately 10.25 am - 11.35am.
Services will also be taking place in Twickenham, Barnes, East Sheen, Hampton, Hampton Wick and Whitton, for further details visit the Council's website here.
