October Teddington planning roundup: church, Sainsbury’s and more

                    It is officially the last day of October today (Friday, 31 October), so here are the top planning applications for sites in and around Teddington made this month.
Car-buying signage at Sainsbury's
A supermarket in Hampton Hill could get a single-storey retail pod installation and new signage.
Sainsbury's Ltd has submitted a planning application seeking permission for the "Construction of single storey retail pod and associated signage" at its store located on Uxbridge Road.
In a planning application document, WSP, on behalf of Sainsbury's said: "The application site measures just 56sqm, but forms part of the larger Sainsburys Supermarket site measuring 9.66 hectares in area.
Church entrance
A planning application has been submitted to Richmond Council seeking to add an extension and new entrance to a church in Teddington.
The application, which is for St Mary with St Alban Church on Ferry Road, involves "the proposed extension of the church to the north with a new entrance".
Moreover, "The development proposals for the site involves the demolition of the vestry extension to the north and removal of Irish yew tree, T1".
Laboratory conversion
A planning application has been submitted to convert Laboratory of the Government Chemists' (LGC) former site in Teddington's Queens Road into an industrial site.
The application seeks the "Change of use of Building 39 from ancillary E(g)(ii) (research and development) to flexible E(g)(ii) (research and development), E(g)(iii) (industrial processes), B2 (general industry) and B8 (storage and distribution)".
It also proposes the "Demolition of remaining existing E(g)(ii) (research and development) units and construction of flexible E(g)(ii) (research and development), E(g)(iii) (industrial processes), B2 (general industry) and B8 (storage and distribution) multi-unit enterprise park. Ancillary works including external lighting, parking areas, hard and soft landscaping".
Listed building repairs
Twickenham Preparatory School, which is located on High Street in Hampton, could see repairs done to one of its Grade II listed buildings.
The school has submitted a planning application seeking "Repairs to the existing Grade II Listed Beveree Building, comprising of repair and maintenance to the roof at the rear of the building and the single storey side roof, with defects including damaged slates, the absence of a breathable underlay to the roof, deteriorated flashings and leadwork, areas of non-original cement mortar, and a defective timber rooflight".
It also hopes to see "Repairs to upper areas of brickwork, capping stones, and corbelling to the rear of the building. Replacement of areas of inappropriate mortar".
