New homes could be built near Hampton Hill high street

Six new homes could be built to the rear of High Street in Hampton Hill.
An application has been submitted to Richmond Council seeking permission to convert an industrial site to the rear of no.1 High Street into five new detached residential units providing three to four bedrooms and an extra detached residential unit, providing two bedrooms and associated access road, parking, bicycle storage and landscaping works.
The site consists of several light industrial buildings located to the rear of no.1 High Street. Access to the site is from Myrtle Road to the north.
Most neighbouring properties to the north are residential, except for two retail premises with residential above positioned to the north of no.1 High Street.
The Longford River runs along the southern boundary and to the west of the site.

The proposed scheme includes the following:
- Demolition of existing light industrial buildings
- Six dwellings
- Four different house types (A, B, C and D)
- All dwellings will comply with the space and other standards set by Policy D6 of the London Plan 2021
- Each dwelling will have a rear garden and parking area with the houses to be two storey and finished in facing brick and render with gable slate roofs
- New soft planting is proposed along the southern and western boundaries
- New soft planting along the boundary between the new houses and no.1 High Street
- Access to be from Myrtle Road to the north
- Individual refuse and cycle stores provided within the curtilage of each unit.
Richmond Council expects to make a decision on this application by 21 April 2026.
