Plans to construct a new dwellinghouse in Teddington have been approved by Richmond Council.

In May last year, Nicky Ottaway Planning submitted a planning application seeking permission for the "Construction of a new dwellinghouse to the rear of r/o No.39 Anlaby Lodge (accessed via Kent drive) with provision of two parking spaces; and associated hard and soft landscaping".

The application originally proposed the construction of a new dwellinghouse to the rear of no.39/Anlaby Lodge.

The new dwelling originally would have had two storeys as well as a basement level, would be detached and comprise up to four bedrooms.

However, the basement floor level previously proposed has been omitted from the scheme reducing the house to three bedrooms.

Revised plans were received on 30 June 2025.

A council officer said that neighbours were not renotified on this point "as it represents an overall reduction to the scheme".

The development proposal has a traditional design and appearance with facing brick exterior walls, traditional window and door detailing and a tiled roof.

A private rear garden area will be provided for use by future occupiers.

A new vehicular access will be formed off Kent Drive.

Two parking spaces with turning will be provided within the site.

Neighbours were informed of the original application and the council received 10 representations highlighting various concerns.
