Legendary EastEnders actor John Altman has lifted the lid on his favourite pub in the borough.
The star who played 'Nasty' Nick Cotton in the soap is a resident of nearby Richmond.
Asked what his favourite pub in the area is for a recent interview with Surrey Life, he named our very own The Anglers at Teddington Lock.
"They do a really good Sunday roast," Mr Altman said.
On his ideal Sunday, he told the magazine: "Have a lie in and then bring my daughter, Rosanna and granddaughter, Lily, over to take a stroll in Bushy Park.
"Then we go for lunch at the Anglers in Teddington Lock and finish off the day with a film perhaps at the Odeon in Kingston. That would be a nice birthday day actually."
Along with many pubs across the country, the Anglers called last orders last night and told its customers that it will see them in December.
We're sorry to bring you the news that once again we are being forced to close due to the government's decision to introduce a second lockdown, starting this Thursday November 5.
Unfortunately, this means we are going to have to cancel your booking but would like to thank you for supporting us and we look forward to raising a glass with you in December!
If you'd like to move your booking date please do let us know, currently we have every intention of being open on the 2nd December and while we won't be able to confirm your booking we'd be happy to hold it in the diary for when we re-open.
Looking forward to sunnier days with you...
No doubt Mr Altman will be one of the first back.
