Teddington's Landmark Arts Centre has recently announced its summer programme of events which offers a line-up bursting with music, comedy, classes and art.
The season launches (4 May) with an instant sell out as Dire Straits founder member, John Illsley, hosts a night performing iconic hits from the Dire Straits back catalogue including Money for Nothing, Brothers in Arms, Romeo and Juliet and Sultans of Swing.
The audience will be treated to a Q&A with John, who will give an intimate snapshot of the life and times of one of the biggest rock bands of all time.
American singer-songwriter, Dean Friedman, will be on concert on 7 May. Hailed as one of the finest songwriters of his generation for his powerful, poignant and hilarious songs, Dean will be performing his legendary chart-topping hits including Ariel, Lucky Stars and Lydia.
The summer programme will also include a range of music across the folk, blues, alt-rock and electronica genres, including legendary Irish folk band, Dervish (26 May), Irish indie-folk pop band, LORE (11 June) and songwriter John Elliot's alt-pop band The Little Unsaid, who are playing on 16 June.
The Blues Band will be playing their farewell tour on 1 July, posing as the perfect chance to see the legendary quintet for one last time. The rising, must see-see act, The Chaplin Sisters + Support: The Ocelots will be playing later on in the month on the 21st.
For all comedy fans, the Comedy Network - which was an added stream to the Landmark's schedule in 2021 - is returning with a line-up of some of the biggest acts on the UK's comedy circuit. Glen Moore is the headliner for the 12 May gig, Lou Sanders headlines on 9 June and Sarah Callaghan on 14 July.
The programme will also include a packed range of exhibitions and fairs starting with the popular Spring Art Fair from the 20-22 May showcasing over 70 artists offering art for sale in a range of media from print to painting. The Korean Expo 2022 (13 June), The Richmond Art Society Summer Exhibition (24-26 June) and the Art Course Show (14-17 July).
Lesley Bossine, arts centre manager commented: "Our new summer programme is a celebration across the arts with a line-up of fantastic music, inspiring exhibitions and hilarious comedy and not forgetting the range of artistic classes on offer. We're so excited to be back in full force as the community's vibrant arts hub and can't wait to share it with you."
